PiP Seminar Series - ‘What about men?’ Engaging men and boys to prevent violence against women
When: 10am – 12.30pm, 12 March 2020 Thursday
Where: Melbourne CBD – VDC, Level 8/379 Collins St, Melbourne VIC 3000 or online
How do practitioners provide an appealing hook to get men and boys on board with prevention and gender equality while ensuring the work is gender transformative and evidence based?
What are the strategies that can be used to respond to the ongoing resistance and backlash in this work?
To engage men and boys in violence prevention, we must reach them first and then be able to speak to them.
But, how do we do that? This seminar will explore how to effectively frame our work to engage men and boys to prevent violence against women.
Our panel of experts, academics, on-the-ground prevention practitioners will take us on a journey of how to manage and work through the barriers and challenges that restrict our active engagement with men and boys.
