CRAF Risk Assessment (Practice Guide 2) – CBD – 29 January

January 29 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

CRAF Risk Assessment (Practice Guide 2)

CRAFRAG

The Practice Guide 2 assists professionals who work with victims of family violence and play a role in initial risk assessment, but for whom responses to family violence are not their only core business.

Introduction

The Common Risk Assessment Framework (CRAF) aims to help practitioners and professionals identify and respond to risk factors associated with family violence. The CRAF is based upon international research and is the basis of the current integrated family violence service system in Victoria. It provides a common language for all agencies to talk about risk, promote a shared understanding of the issues underpinning family violence, and skills to identify, assess and respond to family violence risk.

The CRAF Risk Assessment (practice Guide 2) training is aimed at professionals who work with victims of family violence and play a role in initial risk assessment, but for whom responses to family violence are not their only core business. It aims to support development of skills to identify if family violence risk is present, conduct an initial risk assessment and provide appropriate referrals.

The MARAM Framework has been operational since the 27th of September 2017. This training has been updated to communicate the key changes under the MARAM Framework, to support practitioners to begin to align their practice to their roles and responsibilities under the MARAM Framework.

This training is not a substitute for the Information Sharing and Introduction to MARAM training. It is recommended that participants undertake level 1 CRAF training before attending.
